Bridging the Urban/Rural Divide in Canada

Bridging the Urban/Rural Divide in Canada

Featuring Lisa Deacon

Thursday, Nov 26 @ 12-1PM

Have you ever felt isolated from the experiences and perspectives of urban or rural Canada? You’re not alone.

In this BBL we’ll look at research on the cause and nature of the urban/rural divide in Canada. We’ll consider the impact that this dynamic has on our ability to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Together we’ll explore how individuals and organizations might bridge the urban/rural divide to create stronger and more sustainable communities.

Lisa Deacon, a longtime Hubber, is an entrepreneur and community builder with a lot to learn and share about pursuing social and climate justice in eastern rural Ontario. Being born and raised in rural Canada is a big and complicated part of Lisa’s identity.

Brown Bag Lunches are Impact Hub Ottawa’s weekly lunch & learns led by Hubbers, for members and non-members alike. Topics vary each week, but you’re always sure to learn something new!
