By 2050, the world will have to feed 10 billion people. While we currently have the capacity to feed this number, the global appetite for meat and dairy takes up 75% of farmland and accounts for 26% of emissions.
Join this special Brown Bag Lunch to understand how collaboration might hold the key to reforming our food systems and transitioning to healthier, more sustainable systems while also addressing food waste, food insecurity, and more.
About the Series
Young people make real, positive change happen and when it comes to tackling big challenges, like the climate crisis, youth have stepped up to take action and create opportunities. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, young people from around the country are helping advance progress towards the 2030 SDG Agenda and climate justice.
In this new event series, Putting (YOU)th on the Agenda: Youth Climate Lab’s RAD Cohort Reflects on Radical Collaboration Towards Agenda 2030, hosted in partnership with Youth Climate Lab, Alliance 2030, and RAD, we’ll hear from youth climate leaders about making green jobs accessible for all, creating the future of food, radical collaboration, and building meaningful partnerships.

About the Speakers
Nika Moeini is an activist, author, and policy analyst working at the intersection of climate change and food systems. She is the organizer of Youth Climate Save Canada, working on policy and behavior change as well as a Youth Ambassador with the Plant Based Treaty. Full time she works at Environment and Climate Change Canada as a Policy Analyst on Coal Mining Effluent Regulations. Nika is involved with Toronto Global Shapers, Re-Generation (formerly the Canadian Business Youth Council for Sustainable Development), Lighter Foodprint climate labelling, Food@COP campaign, and the Veg Climate Network.
