Learn how the City of Ottawa invests in Transportation and how you shape its future.

The City of Ottawa recently passed Phase 1 of the Transportation Master Plan - This plan describes how the City of Ottawa invests in our transportation network over the next 20 years. In the Fall of 2023, the city will reengage with the public to help shape Phase 2, looking at travel patterns and trends, transit and road projects, and investment scenarios. Join this Brown Bag Lunch to get an inside view of City Planning from City Councillor Laine Johnson, learn how amalgamation created an interesting challenge for the City of Ottawa’s transportation network, and discuss how you can have a say in how Ottawa invests in transportation moving forward. Laine Johnson is the City Councillor for College Ward in Nepean, Ottawa where she grew up and now lives with her husband and their two young children. Laine received her Master’s in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership at Carleton University and has held executive leadership positions with Synapcity, a local non-profit devoted to public participation with the City of Ottawa, as well as Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC), a non-profit housing corporation. Laine is a co-founder of the Ottawa Community Land Trust and worked with the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre, the Public Policy Forum, and the Great Canadian Theatre Company.
