About this event:
Budgets are about priorities, not resources, and city budgets can tell us exactly what local leaders value.
Join this Brown Bag Lunch, where together with Horizon Ottawa and Vivic Research, we’ll explore the budget-making process in cities, discuss opportunities for improvement, and empower you to advocate for change during your community’s budget consultations.
Sam Hersh is an activist and political organizer involved in several electoral campaigns and has been involved in different movements to support social, environmental and economic justice that fight for systemic change at different levels of government. Now, Sam helps lead Horizon Ottawa, an organization that seeks to bridge the gap between electoral and movement-based politics.
Inez Hillel is co-founder and economist of Vivic Research. Inez is passionate about intersectional economics that centers frontline voices and qualitative data as foundational for progressive policy development.
