Reopening and Welcoming Change

2020 has been a year of surprises and adapting to new ways of staying connected. While we were unable to meet in person during our physical closure, we kept the conversations flowing by hosting more than 50 online events with over 250 unique members, community guests, including many of you. Now, we look forward to embracing a new way of working and developing hybrid ways of connecting and supporting members both at 123 Slater and virtually.

We’re reopening our doors Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to members for coworking, and we invite you, our friends, partners and community cheerleaders to join us. Email the team for more information and to get set-up.

** Starting Monday September 14 our doors will be open, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to active members for coworking**

While COVID-19 forced us all to adapt to changes big and small, some important shifts were already in the works for our team. After nearly eight years with Impact Hub Ottawa, including four years as Managing Director, Katie Miller had been preparing to transition from her local role at Impact Hub Ottawa.

Impact Hub Ottawa’s Board of Directors is happy to support Katie’s transition and to share that Elizabeth Cleland, who has been a valued member of the team since 2017, is stepping into the role of Managing Director.

Although Katie’s face will be less frequent around the space, she will continue to support the Canadian social innovation sector and the Hub network in an advisory capacity and through her roles with the Impact Hub Global Association Board, Future of Good and RADIUS. We are so grateful for Katie’s leadership over the years, as she guided us through the move from 71 Bank St. to 123 Slater St and, most recently, through an expansion to the 7th floor.

Hub is in good hands with Elizabeth, Gina, Will and Robyn, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the community and organization continue to adapt and evolve in the coming months as we return and get to see some familiar faces again.
