Location: Predominantly Onsite downtown Ottawa – limited work from a home office

Salary: $20/hour
Hours – 8-hour shifts between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm with occasional evenings and weekends
What is Impact Hub Ottawa?
Established in 2012, Impact Hub Ottawa (Hub Ottawa) is a not for profit, coworking space located in the heart of downtown Ottawa dedicated to serving change-maker entrepreneurs, businesses, and working professionals seeking a community of like-minded individuals who drive impact and positive change. Hub Ottawa offers offices and desks, meeting and event spaces, ongoing learning events, and networking opportunities. Members are entitled to perks including free consulting with the growing team of expert coach mentors, and free quality teas and coffee. Hub Ottawa also has dedicated programs such as Compassionate Co-Working that support cohorts of entrepreneurs via skills development and networking. Hub Ottawa is the only Canadian member of the Global Hub Network.
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Digital Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The Digital Marketing Coordinator will leverage their skills to achieve our social impact and business growth goals; identify needs and opportunities to increase brand awareness and engagement; and, amplify the work of our members and community.
We’re looking for someone passionate about promoting sustainability, diversity and inclusion, community building and social entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate is creative, organized and comfortable collaborating on a small team. Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with a small team, help to develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to increase Hub Ottawa awareness and business using all necessary tools (e.g. website, emails, social media, blogs)
- Take a lead role in the execution of a social media plan, working with the team on themes to prioritize and the content to post (Insta; BlueSky; LinkedIN; FB)
- Promote Hub Ottawa events, opportunities and offerings via social media channels, Hub Community Slack, and online event calendars and tools
- Create and curate impactful content for the Hub Ottawa promotional channels while ensuring brand consistency through all marketing channels
- Conduct market research on competitors and industry disruptors, specifically their online presence
- Collaborate with the team members to display and enhance the expression of Hub Ottawa’s mission, vision and values and the community’s efforts for positive change
- Potential to work on Hub Ottawa’s WordPress for its website updates and adding new content
- Help with the promotion of a small podcast studio and take a lead role in helping to report on its success with client stories and profiles
- Report on metrics and analytics for social media platforms to monitor and improve reach, online engagement and conversion
Requirements
- A post-secondary education in a field relating to communications or marketing, or 1+ years’ experience in a marketing role
- Demonstrable experience with marketing campaigns and web technologies, including event, email, CRM and optimization tools and social media platforms
- Familiarity with web design, HTML, and content management systems (CMS)
- Experience with graphic design concepts and tools (Canva)
- Familiarity with SEO, SEM, Google Analytics and web analysis tools
- Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Passionate about advancing impact and sustainability through collaboration and innovation
- Must be between 15-30 years of age
- Must be c Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or someone who has been officially granted refugee protection in Canada and legally entitled to work in Canada (which means you must have a valid Social Insurance Number).
Working Condition
This full-time position is 100% on-site at 123 Slater Street, Ottawa in an office environment. The site has limited kitchen facilities (ie coffee, tea, fridge, microwave). There is no parking available; however, there is space for bike parking. We are two blocks away from the Parliament LRT station, and close to many bus stops.
